Cooperation

The Faculty of Philology collaborates with numerous institutions within the university’s socio-economic environment. Our cooperation includes providing expert opinions on and co-creating study programmes, as well as organizing study visits, student internships, and traineeships. Key areas of collaboration include partnerships with employers and schools in Opole and the surrounding region, as well as international cooperation.

Cooperation with Employers

One of the strategic goals of the Faculty of Philology is to strengthen ties with our external environment and to develop the competencies of our graduates. This goal is realized through the following actions: leveraging existing and establishing new contacts within the socio-economic environment; inviting external entities to contribute to the review of study programmes; increasing the participation of industry practitioners in teaching activities; inviting collaboration in organizing student internships and traineeships; and inviting cooperation within projects aimed at developing students’ professional competencies.

The Faculty of Philology works to facilitate graduates’ entry into the labor market by developing students’ professional competencies not only during university classes but, above all, by implementing competency development projects and traineeship programmes, monitoring labour market trends, and supervising Master’s theses that are linked to the labor market and commissioned by institutions in the university’s environment.

Our existing collaboration includes teaching sessions conducted by experts from the university’s business environment, study visits to companies, training sessions for students, internships, and traineeships. We invite companies from Opole, the Opole region, and beyond to collaborate with the Faculty. We encourage you to complete the survey regarding our study programmes >> SURVEY

Cooperation with Schools

The Faculty of Philology provides teacher training through the following second-cycle degree programmes: English Philology – Teacher Training, Polish Philology, German Studies, and Speech and Language Therapy. Students undertake semester-long and continuous teaching practice in cooperation with schools in Opole; they also have the opportunity to collaborate with schools in their place of residence, which enables them to find employment directly after graduation. Our existing collaboration with schools includes:

FOR STUDENTS:

  • Internships and traineeships

FOR PUPILS:

  • Thematic workshops (cultural, literary, linguistic) dedicated to specific groups of secondary school pupils (held at the Collegium Maius building)
  • Individual attendance for pupils in selected classes (as auditors)
  • The “Invite a Lecturer” programme – a communication platform enabling secondary school teachers, career advisors, and principals to contact selected academic staff (for meetings with pupils at their school)
  • Workshops for final exam (Matura) classes during the Faculty of Philology’s Open Days

FOR TEACHERS:

  • Methodological training dedicated to teachers – specialized language or methodological workshops for teaching the English language
  • Individual participation for interested teachers in selected classes (as auditors)

Cooperation with Cultural Organizations and Institutions

The Faculty of Philology cooperates with numerous public benefit organizations, libraries, theatres, galleries, museums, and other cultural institutions. Our partners include associations, unions, foundations, and societies operating in the fields of culture, art, and education. We co-organize numerous events and jointly participate in projects for the benefit of the region and the local community.

International Cooperation

The Faculty of Philology collaborates with numerous higher education institutions worldwide. Our strategic partners are part of the FORTHEM Alliance of European Universities, of which the University of Opole is a member. Particular emphasis should be placed on the involvement of the Faculty’s students and staff in the European Campus and Skills & Competences Missions, as well as in the Migration and Diversity and Multilingualism Labs. Within the framework of NAWA and Erasmus+ projects, and in cooperation with international partners, our academic staff develop teaching materials, and students acquire key competencies for the labor market. Both staff and students participate in individual and group mobility under the Erasmus+ programme.
