Students of English Philology from the University of Opole took part in an international workshop held as part of the Europe Forum project at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. The event was organised thanks to the international cooperation within the FORTHEM Alliance.
The workshops took place from 9 to 13 June 2025 and were attended by ten English Philology students from UO, accompanied by Dr Aleksandra Baryłowicz.
The central theme of the event, Stronger for Europe, reflected its primary goal: to foster intercultural dialogue, develop soft skills, and promote civic engagement in a diverse academic environment.
Over forty students and academic staff from seven partner universities of the FORTHEM Alliance took part in the programme. All activities were conducted in English and included debates, collaborative project work in international teams, problem-solving tasks, and panel discussions.
The workshops focused on key challenges facing contemporary Europe, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the job market, cultural diversity, stereotypes, and the role of the younger generation in shaping Europe’s shared future.
Participants gained valuable educational and intercultural experience, exchanged good teaching practices, and reflected on the current directions and challenges in higher education.
