Dr Proadeep Kumar delivered the inaugural speech at the opening meeting of the project “Economic Issues in the International Context (EIIC)” at Hochschule Mittweida, University of Applied Sciences, Germany on November 24, 2024.
Dr Pradeep Kumar of the Institute of Linguistics, Faculty of Philology, University of Opole, introduced a research-based teaching project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), through the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Germany. In his inaugural speech, Dr Kumar highlighted the growing importance of international cooperation in higher education, noting that universities are increasingly interconnected through research partnerships, academic exchanges, and the mobility of students and faculty. He emphasized that this internationalization presents both opportunities and challenges for universities, particularly in terms of economic sustainability and resource allocation.
The collaborative initiative between the University of Opole and several international academic partners, is designed to engage students, academics, and external stakeholders in discussions on the intersection of economy, globalization, and international collaboration in academia. The opening lecture set the tone for the project, offering valuable insights into the economic dimensions of university internationalization, with a specific focus on the role of Polish-German institutions within the global academic ecosystem.
